New Mac Electric Company
New Mac Electric Company visited our school today. They discussed with the third graders about the importance of electrical safety.
Jump Rope Jill
Jump Rope Jill came to our school on September 12th. She has jumped rope since the age of 6. She has traveled all over the world and won many awards. Now she travels the world teaching students about the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT
Please come join us for Back to School Night. It will be held Tuesday, August 14th from 6-7:30pm. You can come and meet your child's teacher, see the school, and explore your new classroom. Every year third grade participates in a poster contest. Students have to create a poster about conservation. The winners receive money and their poster will be displayed at the county fair. Here are the winning posters from third grade:

MAP assembly
MAP celebration assembly
The McDonald County High School band, Color Gaurd, cheerleaders, and the sixth grade band came to Anderson Elementary today! They played music, did some cheers, and spoke with the students about the importance of doing their best on the MAP test.
The reading team also put on a skit and shared tips with the students on how to do their best on the MAP test.

Missouri School Read-In Day
Governor Jay Nixon signed a bill into law in May 2011 that made March 9th Missouri School Read-In Day. The entire school spent 30 minutes Friday afternoon reading. Third grade students got to pick a spot in the hallway to read silently.
